Lollipops

Lollipops/Lollies/Suckers - candy on a stick made from hardened, flavored sucrose and corn syrup. May be poured in a mold to let set, or hand poured in circular swirls.

Variations: chocolate 'lollipops' (molded chocolate on a stick); lollipop candy wrapped around the stick in spirals(rather than the traditional round shape at the top of the stick); butterscotch, caramel or toffee lollipops.

Ideas with Lollipops

Make your own lollipops!

Purchase lollipop molding kits, either for the hard-candy lollipops, or chocolate kind. This is a great craft for parties, or to give as valentine's gifts. Lollipops also make cute party favors, or a sweet 'extra' attached to a greeting card.

Lollipop Bouquet

Make a lollipop 'bouquet' of 'long-stemmed' lollipops in a vase, basket or other container, or just tied with a pretty ribbon.

'Grow' Lollipops

Plant lollipop 'flowers', using small flower pots (eg. terracotta or clay), green floral foam or styrofoam, and topped with spanish moss.

Decorate the pots with paint or decoupage, if desired, in whatever theme you wish. Place a piece of foam in the bottom of the pot, insert lollipops and cover the foam with spanish moss. You can add a flower 'marker' with a written greeting, as a finishing touch.
Optional: Add green, construction paper or craft foam 'leaves' to lollipop sticks. You can also cut out and attach colorful 'petals' around the lollipops.
