Gummies

Gummies/Gummy candies (gummy bears, gummi worms, etc) - chewy, translucent, candy originating in Germany, made from sugar, glucose syrup, starch, flavor (fruit flavors are common), color, citric acid and gelatin, shaped like teddy bears, worms, fruit, or other animals or objects. Some types of gummies are made with pectin or starch instead of gelatin.

Gummi Worm Cake

1 chocolate cake mix
chocolate frosting - enough to frost double layer cake
2 pkgs gummi worms
1 pkg Oreo cookies

Prepare and bake chocolate cake according to directions. Allow to cool, and assemble.

Frost cake, making sure frosting on top is fairly thick.

Finely crush half of the Oreos in a sturdy bag using a rolling pin. Then sprinkle the Oreo 'dirt' on top of the cake and garnish with gummi worms.

More coarsely crush the remaining Oreos and sprinkle between and partially over the worms, so they are just 'peeking' out.
